About me

My name is Salina K. I am a high school student who is passionate about going in depth on social issues that surround today’s youth and have a huge impact on today’s society. As a youth, I believe that many of us including myself are not given a chance to project what we feel about such issues. Our voices are barely heard or ever taken seriously. Therefore, I continuously volunteer in different organizations such as United 4 Peace and International Indian Film Festival (Lead Student Volunteer) . In order to expand my contribution in sharing my voice, I also write blogs which contain my opinion as a youth on current social problems affecting all age groups, especially today’s youth .

What’s My website about?

The voices of today’s youth are rarely heard. There are many problems that surround all age groups but us millennials are never taken seriously as part of these problems.Considering such factors, as a youth I chose to create my website where I could write blogs sharing my opinions on behalf of all youths on matters impacting all of us. There are some matters which play a huge impact on us such as: mental illness, racism against minorities, peer pressure and bullying but support systems are  not as accessible to today’s youth that can support us whenever we are in a problem. With no voices and no support systems, the majority of people dealing with mental illness and racism increase each day. Just in Canada ,1 in 5  die every day by suicide due to mental health phobias and racism. 70% of mental health problems have their onset during childhood or adolescence. By the time Canadians reach 40 years of age, 1 in 2 have—or have had—a mental illness. This needs to be changed. We all need to bring a “change”! We all need to share our voices to make a “change”
